Sweetie Girl Racing started in 1999 as the first Canadian all female show and race team. We began as a marketing concept of the Darknights Group (DKN) 9 years ago to appeal to a new industry on the Canadian automotive frontier.
Over time, we have evolved through many stages as a team, as members, and as individuals. Since our launch at the first ever
Darknights Nationals in 1999, we have won numerous awards on and off the track and received a variety of media coverage including Performance Auto and Sound Magazine, The Toronto Star, and SexTV.
We have introduced new initiatives including working within the community by supporting and organizing various charity events that will allow SGR to have a stronger presence in the public community. We have organized and participated in countless charity events such as our very popular
SGR Annual Charity Car Wash and Dyno Day. Our 2007 Car Wash alone raised a little over $2000 for CIBC’s “Run for the Cure” for the
Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation in 2007. We also have previously done work for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and Gilda’s Club.
SGR stays strong by maintaining a presence within the automotive enthusiast community and keeping close relationships with our diverse members through
other affiliate teams. SGR divisions are designed to allow any female car enthusiast to participate in this ever growing scene. Each
SGR division caters to an interest along with providing discounts on SGR merchandise and from various SGR affiliates. Whether you are into racing, show events, or do not even have a car at all, SGR provides a platform for you.
SGR now represents a new initiative to become more than just a car club. We are committed to be the platform to bring together and unite a diverse group of female car enthusiasts to educate, participate, and self develop with in the community. Now more than ever, we are trying to fill a popular niche in a growing market segment for female car enthusiasts to reap the rewards, the recognition, the respect and of course... TO HAVE FUN !
