PURPOSE
The SGR Miss Shift Racing Program is a comprehensive membership program that offers female car race enthusiasts team benefits, sponsored racing discounts, and hands-on technical training. SGR Tech day is one aspect of the Miss Shift Program designed to teach the technical portion to your vehicle. Most importantly, the purpose of the SGR Tech Day is to create a friendly environment for everybody to be educated by knowledgeable professionals about their vehicles without the fear, intimidation or scrutiny that most girls experiences in the automotive market. And were going to do something about it!
WHY IT MATTERS
At SGR, we believe that there is no other car team out there that will provide the best avenue for any female car enthusiast to be get involved. The SGR Tech day provides everyone the opportunity to come out and get hands-on experience with their vehicles. It also allows potential event racers the chance to prepare for the first CSCS event on Sunday June 4th at Toronto Motorsports Park. Even if our members are not going to be racing, we want to educate and inform on important safety and maintenance issues about their vehicles. It will be a day for existing and new members to simply come out and have fun!
WHAT WE'RE GOING TO DO
Our priority for this tech day is to give you hands on experience working on your own car. If there is something you have in mind, please let us know.
This includes:
Have you checked and/or changed your engine oil before? (bring oil, filter)
Have you ever changed/rotated spare tires? (bring emergency tire jack required should be in car)
Have you ever changed your brake pads? (bring new brake pads)
Have you ever considered/participated in solo, auto crossing, or road racing?
In order to accomdate the working environment, please dress appropriately for getting first hand experience on your own car no clothes, no high heels, bring mechanic/garden gloves if available!
