Team SGR: List of Upcoming Events~ Please Review!

Hey Everyone!!!

2008 is going to be huge for SGR. We have alot going on within the next couple months to start our season off the right way! Below is a list of our upcoming events for Feb/Mar 2008. I will create seperate posts for these events closer to the dates. As of now use this as a guideline to whats coming up in the near future.

1) The first show of the year is Speed-o-Rama to be held Feb 8-10th. We want to have a nice but not huge set up as it is the beginning of February. If you are interested in either registering your car or helping out with the booth, please advise. You can find show information at this link http://www.speedoramainfo.com/toronto.htm

2) The following weekend the Toronto International Auto Show begins and will run for 10 consecutive days. We will have a small setup where we will represent SGR with a small 4 car display representing both divisions of our team.

3) The next show is Performance World. This is the show we NEED to have a huge presence at. We need ALL members to come out to this show!! SGR is very active at Performance World with the Street Concepts Competition Series and their annual Award Ceremony. SGR is the proud sponsor for the Street Concepts Competition Series Female of the Year Award. Performance World is also introducing Darknights back into the Automotive scene. It has been a few years in the making and is going to be a massive show and we need to make sure that SGR is repp'n hard!!! We want to have a minimum of 8 rides for this show as we already have a huge display area to work with. We also want to release the SGR Calendar at this show. 4) Next we will have the Sweetie Girl Racing Annual Meet N Greet/Open House on March 29th at Grand Prix Kartways around 3pm. Right after starting at 7pm, we will be holding the 2nd Annual SGR Charity Poker Tournament.

We also are in the works for renting a studio to take the SGR Calendar Photos at. We are hoping for March 1st or March 2nd. You will be advised of the exact date asap.

I will keep you up to date as to what I can attend too. I can see that it's going to be a very busy time for SGR members for the next few months. Hopefully none of my appts. interfere with any of the shows coming up. I should have my full set of pearlies by march, which means many appts. during Feb and March.

So far nothing interfere's with any appts. I have currently.

I am interested in attending all events for full support for SGR.

Performance World is 3 or 4 days. The last one I went to as a spectator was 4 days I think, I can't remember, it was a couple years agao. I'm getting old so my memory isn't that great.

Performance World is a 3 day show. Friday - Sun...but this is also one of the biggest shows of the year since Darknights is back!!! Irene ~ We need ur car there!! We will work something out. Remember I only have one car too...it is a pain but it can be done :)

It will also be a re-shoot yes. The previous photos will not be used.

unless I drag myself there after my 6 hour law course..lol.

I know performance world is held on the weekend of my law course exam.
So the Friday I wont be able to come since I will be studying all day.
Will see if I can make it saturday after my exam.

I was offered a job to shovel sidewalks for $25.00 an hour.... A) I am NOT going outside with -20 degree wind chills B) So far it's proven that we could have random warm ups and the snow melts and what do I do then? C) I'd probably slip and fall on my ass. D) Nothing is more embarassing than catching the edge of your shovel on ice underneath the snow and being propelled over the shovel into a snow bank....

We will be setting up some studio time at the begining of March to re-shoot the calander content. We will need all our members out for this shoot. Melissa will post more information when it gets alittle closer to that time.

There is going to be no calendar shoot...why you ask? Because the whole calendar is going to be different shots of Damian with his rat's tail posing with all our cars.

Well Speedorama is Feb 8- Feb 10th...its looking to be a pretty good show too. Seriously!!! I can't even take anymore days off. I called in sick last friday cause I had the flu. I can't call in again for a while. And to tell my supervisor that I need the day off cause of a car show, omg she'd flip. She gave me shit for taking the day off for a funeral. This is also my bestfriends mother.
I work in Mississauga and live in Toronto so there is no way for me to get to work. I'll see if my mom will let me take her truck to work for one day. I'll beg and I'll cry. LOL Or maybe I'll see how much I can rent a car for. Oh god. I don't know. My mom doesn't like loaning her truck out. She always says "it's not a toy" blah blah. I'll see what I can do.
